The Webcomic Beacon has been a topical podcast, promoting webcomic creation since 2007. In 2010, two new programs were added: The Webcomic Beacon Newscast, covering and commenting on relative news happenings of the week; and The Tropecast, a show covering assorted tropes, memes, and other repeating literary tools. As of June 10th, 2011, the website has been rebranded to become The Webcast Beacon Network, with the launch of the newest program, Webfiction World, for a look into serial updating of fiction online.

April 29th – May 1st – Convention: PENGUICON (Troy Marriott in Troy, MI). Several members of The Rampage Network will be present this year including Fes Works, Tanya Higgins, Mark Savary, and Adam Smithee of The Webcomic Beacon podcast; plus Alex Heberling of Alex’s Guide. May 7th - Jimmy Purcell, creator of the comic Been Better and every year his local comic book shop, 4 Color Fantasies (Rancho Cucamonga, CA), has a big hullabaloo for Free Comic Book Day. Jimmy has a table for this event so if you are in the area, look him up! This year marks the store’s 5th anniversary, so the owner intends on making it huge.
So, it’s been awhile since I updated anything, but I have a good reason. My art computer died on me and I’ve been saving up for a new one (along with another car, which I just purchased. Lots of bad luck in the last 2 years…) But, Zed will be back, I promise you. I’m aiming at early this Summer.
In the meantime, I entered Zed into a contest called the CREATE A SUPERHERO, put on by the Stan Lee Foundation on Talenthouse.com. Zed Needs votes! The grand prize is pretty spectacular, A limited number of toys made, An award presented to the winner by Stan Lee at COMICON, a meeting with Todd McFarlane at his Studio in Arizona and introductions to film and social gaming professionals.
Anyhow, If you can find it in your hearts to vote, I’d really appreciate it. Voting ends Feb 18th, 2001. You can vote through talenthouse both with your Facebook account or with SMS text messege. Text – TH TYJ2N2 to 66337
